SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY

Sleeve gastrectomy is the most commonly performed obesity surgery technique worldwide. Sleeve gastrectomy is a restrictive procedure in which up to 70-80% of stomach is resected, including the part that produces the ‘hunger hormone’  ghrelin. For this procedure we use high quality stapling and tissue fusion – vessel sealing devices. We usually discharhge our patients after 3 days of hospital stay. To our international patients, we recommend two more days of stay at a hotel and then send them back to their countries after medical controls. By the end of the fisrst year after surgery, 30% of the total weight should be lost.
