We may be overweight, but we can find out how serious our obesity problem is by dividing our weight by the square of our height (BMI calculation).
According to our body mass index, we should consider underweight under 18.5, normal between 18.5-24.9, slightly overweight between 25-29.9, and seriously overweight over 30. Especially if our body mass index is 40 and above, we should know that our weight has started to seriously damage our health and that we are not faced with a simple eating disorder.
We are determined and aware of our overweight. First, we should consult our doctor for a general examination and have our blood tests and blood pressure checked. We may have a disease such as underactive thyroid gland, diabetes or high blood pressure and we may not know it yet.
If our test results are normal, depending on the degree of our overweight, multifaceted treatment options await us, including increasing our life habits, diet information (eating habits and healthy food preferences), drug treatment, non-surgical (gastric botox and balloon application) and obesity (obesity) surgeries.
